In times of increasing demand for AAC products, process reliability is more important than ever. For this reason, the first section of the cutting line was equipped with an Aircrete cross cutter. Since this year, this has been in operation at our Dutch plant in Vuren.
There, it cuts AAC into various specified block heights and slab lengths. With its renewal, Xella ensures an even more reliable and fluid production chain and continues to guarantee just-in-time deliveries to the construction site. But not only that.
The investment in the new machine also pays off in terms of our sustainability goals: energy and raw materials can be saved. Because we can cut even thinner concrete cakes with the machine, we already save valuable raw materials during concrete casting and reduce our energy consumption through less return slurry. The modern machine also results in fewer wire breakage.
Thanks to the careful planning and expertise of our project partner Aircrete, the downtime caused by the replacement turned out to be even shorter than expected.

Further advantages of the new Aircrete aerated concrete cutter briefly

1. we cut the concrete even more precisely.
The cutting tools of the machine enable extremely precise cuts because so-called oscillating wires are installed in them in a precise holder and groove system.
2. we offer an even wider range of aerated concrete products.
The wires along the meter-long cross cutter can be positioned at any point at intervals of five millimeters. This allows us to serve the various product formats more flexibly than ever before.
3. we optimize the production cycle in terms of quality and accuracy of fit.
Through individually adjustable parameters on the cutting wires, we reduce production damage to the aerated concrete slabs to a minimum.
