Pleasant climate even in summer: sports halls with Hebel AAC
Hebel autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) ensures an optimum climate in modern sports halls even in hot temperatures - whether for climbing, weight training or professional basketball. Three examples demonstrate its outstanding insulating properties and how it contributes to a pleasant training atmosphere.

Fitness and well-being all year round
The Fit-Aktiv fitness studio in Friedrichsdorf, Germany also benefits from the outstanding properties of Hebel AAC. In collaboration with the hebelHALLE partner “mein-bauplaner GmbH”, Tarkan Alpara drove the building project forward as the client and co-operator of the gym. “A lot of people come here every day to train together. When everyone starts to sweat as a result of their exertion, high humidity quickly builds up - which is not pleasant for anyone. It was also important to us that the temperature in the new hall always remains constant, regardless of whether it is snowing outside or the sun is blazing,” summarizes Tarkan Alpara. In the modern new building with an area of over 1,000 square meters, the temperature remains pleasantly constant all year round. The AAC not only regulates the temperature, but also ensures a balanced humidity ratio, which benefits the trainees and reduces the operating costs for air conditioning and heating. It also offers excellent fire protection.
Optimal comfort for athletes and fans
The Sparkassen-Arena in Göttingen, home of the Bundesliga basketball team BG Göttingen, was also built using Hebel AAC. The 25 centimeter thick wall panels not only enable rapid construction progress, but also an outstanding level of insulation. Combined with mineral fiber insulation, the hall achieves passive house standards, which keeps the heating requirement extremely low. This creates a comfortable environment for athletes and spectators, even with intensive use and high outside temperatures. The energy-efficient design also reduces operating costs in the long term.
