First implementation of system elements in Switzerland

Digitally planned and progressing at a great pace: In Lommiswil, in Switzerland, a residential project is currently being executed with large-format Ytong autoclaved aerated concrete elements.

12 October, 2021

The village of Lommiswil has so far consisted mainly of single-family homes and a few active farms, conveying a rural idyll, and surrounded by attractive local recreational destinations. The three new apartment buildings with 15 residential units and an underground garage now fit into this picture. With magnificent views of the Bernese Alps and optimal connections to the public transport network, they offer one of the most attractive locations in the area.

Avoiding unnecessary mistakes and burdens on the environment

The buildings were designed using Xella's digital service blue.sprint. Blue.sprint, provides all the services that make construction projects easier, faster, and more cost-effective from the start. From optimizing material selection and project consulting to providing a digital product database. This can save a lot of construction time and costs and make it easier to avoid unnecessary mistakes and additional material consumption. It also results in less construction waste that would pollute the environment.

Fast, simple, and yet sustainable

The goal of any project: a construction process that runs as smoothly as possible. With these requirements, in addition to good planning, a system is also needed that works quickly in implementation and still meets the strictest building regulations. With large-format Ytong system elements, this challenge can be optimally met while still saving time and money. Assuming good planning, the effort required to create a masonry structure can be greatly reduced. This applies to load-bearing and non-load-bearing interior walls as well as to exterior walls. This method of working therefore complements digital planning perfectly and has already ensured a strong increase in efficiency in past projects.
