In the Martini-Quartier in Kassel, the future-oriented Variowohnen Kassel living concept is being realised with the help of state-of-the-art technologies. The project is part of the "Zukunft Bau" research initiative of the Federal Ministry of "Inneres, Bau und Heimat (BMI)", of which forward-looking living concepts are being implemented throughout Germany. It consists of 41 residential units for students and trainees, which can later be flexibly adapted to the special requirements of different user groups, e.g. for barrier-free or age-appropriate housing.
Xella and Eisfeld Ingenieure presented the Hololens live on the construction site
Digital, variable, smart
Eisfeld Ingenieure used the digital Xella planning service blue.sprint already in the planning phase to efficiently, quickly and cost-consciously implement the 41 residential units and two communal areas of the student residence in the Martini-Quartier. With blue.sprint, a digital twin of the building envelope - a 3D model - is created, which not only optimizes the choice of materials, but also provides enormous flexibility for necessary adjustments. The digital construction plans created in the 3D model can be transferred to a Hololens as a hologram and thus projected directly onto the construction site. On the construction site, this model can be visually experienced at exactly the point where the analog walls will later be created.
Xella and Eisfeld Ingenieure presented the use of Hololens technology live on the construction site for the first time in Germany. As one of the first companies in the construction industry, Xella uses this technology to support the digital planning and implementation of construction projects directly at the construction site. The Hololens is a mixed-reality pair of glasses that allows the user to display interactive 3D projections in the real environment. The digitally planned building parts such as wall or roof elements can thus be virtually displayed and checked directly on site. After the presentation, the approximately 40 guests of the event all took the chance to try out the glasses themselves. See for yourself:
"The use of Hololens technology on the construction site closes the gap between the digital and analog world of our industry. Through this new connection possible errors can be detected at an early stage and the planning reliability in the construction project can be significantly improved. The cooperation between all parties involved gets more efficient and transparent".
