digitalBAU 2020: Xella presents digital planning for more efficiency in construction
'Rethinking building: As a pioneer of digitalization in the construction industry, the Xella Group will be one of the few building materials manufacturers with its own booth and innovative solutions.
Under the motto 'Rethinking building', digitalBAU will celebrate its premiere in Cologne from February 11-13, 2020. So far, more than 260 exhibitors have registered, and the organizers are expecting around 15,000 visitors. As a pioneer of digitalization in the construction industry, the Xella Group will be one of the few building materials manufacturers with its own booth and innovative solutions.
Xella Group is one of the leading internationally operating solution providers to the building sector. No matter if serial, large-format construction work, innovative products with high energy efficiency, circular economy or digital planning of construction projects – Xella offers custom-made solutions. Xella is the parent company of well-known brands such as Ytong, Silka, Hebel, Multipor or Ursa and is – with its planning tool blue.sprint – one of the pioneers in digitally supported building processes.
Digital, real, virtual – these three dimensions of digital planning are already apparent to visitors to the trade fair at first glance in the booth concept of the Duisburg-based building materials group: Digital wall elements that are faithfully reproduced in the original are continued with a white wall made of real Ytong elements. Visitors can try out the brand-new Hololens 2 live at the booth and use a virtual hologram to continue building the wall themselves. In this way, visitors can get their own impression of the advantages of digital planning directly on site: Errors in planning can already be detected in the 3D model and thus early on before completion, costs and material can be saved and planning reliability guaranteed. In addition, Hololens technology offers an excellent opportunity for quality control by the site manager on the construction site, who can get an overview of the construction progress of the respective project at any time using the significantly more advanced Hololens 2 technology.
Since 2016, digitalization has been a top priority and an integral part of the Xella corporate strategy. For the company, digitalization is not just a project, but an integral part of its business model. The figures speak for themselves: Internationally, more than 320 projects were planned with blue.sprint last year, and in 2020 the number is expected to double.
Get an idea of our digital planning service blue.sprint or test the new Hololens 2 live in action. Visit us during the digitalBAU from February 11-13, at our booth 516 in hall 7, and our experts from the digital team and sales department will be happy to answer your questions.
