How Xella encounters regulation to protect the environment

Increasingly strict regulations apply to the construction industry. So how does the Xella Group meet the increasing requirements to regulate CO2 emissions in the construction industry?

31 March, 2022

What the #FDES (Fiche de Déclaration Environnementale et Sanitaire) is to France, the EPDs (Environmental Product Declaration) are for many European countries. What all these declarations have in common: They aim to assess CO2 emissions uniformly to reduce them in a sustainable manner. Information on the current environmental declarations are thereby essential tools for assessing and evaluating performance and environmental impact in the context of construction projects. They provide our business partners with essential information so that they can operate on reliable, legally secure terrain when planning their projects.

How does the Xella Group meet the increasing requirements for regulating CO2 emissions in the construction industry? Answer: with research, innovative and sustainable products, and up-to-date data sheets. And this is the case in all our national companies.

Consistently innovative thanks to inhouse Technology and Research Center

Our own Technology and Research Center benefits our customers by contributing significantly to the improvement of formulas and production and quality-assurance processes. It benefits sustainability by systematically contributing to the improvement of our products’ thermal-insulation performance and to a circular economy. For all our solutions, our Technology and Research company creates a reliable foundation for renewal and forward-looking action. It foresees political developments and has been researching innovative high-performance building materials and enhancing our CO2 footprint for many years.

Sustainable, efficient, and reliable: our building materials

With innovative, reliable, and sustainable construction and insulation solutions, we contribute to the energy efficiency of buildings and to affordable construction and renovation. This is how we inspire our customers and support the decarbonization and sustainability of the construction sector - for a healthy home, work, and life.

Trustful partnerships

Using our up-to-the-minute information on the current environmental declarations, we give you an overview of all the product features you need for legal compliance in your project. Our product managers are constantly updating their skills, our construction consultants and sales teams are available to answer your questions, and our seminar and webinar program is also available to our customers and business partners at any time.

In addition, we want to make things as easy as possible for our business partners. Our product managers regularly take care of all necessary updates. In the coming years, many new regulations will come into force. This does not prevent us from continuing to improve our environmental footprint on our own initiative and further reducing our CO2 emissions by implementing various measures.
