From January 29th to February 1st, Xella Italy participated in the Klimahouse fair in Bolzano—an essential event that brings together experts, companies, and enthusiasts in the sustainable construction sector. The fair serves as a platform for sharing the latest developments in energy-efficient building technologies and construction standards, including the CasaClima certification, which has become synonymous with sustainability and high performance in the Italian market.

The Klimahouse Fair in Bolzano

As one of the leading events for green building, Klimahouse promotes innovation and the adoption of sustainable materials and techniques in construction. Attendees have the opportunity to engage in workshops, presentations, and networking with key stakeholders. Xella Italia presented the Ytong building system, with particular focus on the monolithic solution for external walls and energy efficient buildings. Furthermore also promoting their academy for builders and the whole Multipor product range.

Xella Italy’s extensive portfolio of CasaClima-certified projects illustrates its expertise in supporting sustainable and energy-efficient construction. The following projects are exemplary of the company’s contributions to innovative building design.

Villa di Laguna

Located in the scenic Veneto countryside, Villa di Laguna is a stunning example of architectural harmony with nature. Surrounded by lush greenery and frequented by wildlife such as egrets and herons, the villa’s design maximizes natural light and solar gain through its north-south orientation and expansive windows. The two-floor structure features fragmented volumes, a striking helical staircase, and a central fireplace enhancing the double-height living room space. The careful use of Xella products contributed to achieving the CasaClima A – Nature certification, aligning with the client’s vision for a bio-architecture project with a low environmental impact.

Uptown Torino

In the heart of Turin, Uptown Torino redefines urban living with its innovative design and sustainable focus. Originally a reconversion project of a historic structure, the residence now houses 21 apartments across four floors, blending modern housing needs with respect for the environment. Sustainable construction techniques and Xella solutions ensured very low energy consumption and high living comfort, which led to the project obtaining the CasaClima certification in July 2023.

Villa di Grosseto

Nestled in Magliano in Tuskany, this single-family villa spans three floors, two of which are underground. The property features unique elements such as a solar greenhouse, a rainwater collection cistern, and an Etruscan cave. The integration of advanced sustainable construction techniques, including fire-resistant materials suited to the high-risk Maremma region, played a crucial role in achieving CasaClima certification. The villa’s traditional yet forward-thinking design showcases the benefits of a complete Xella system.
