About 70 years after the invention of the Ytong block, Ytong Bausatzhaus GmbH was founded in 1997 in response to the high growth rates in the market for do-it-yourself builders. Under the hashtag #WohnenHatEinZuhause, the brand is now celebrating its 25th anniversary and looks back on long-lasting success and many fulfilled dreams. At the annual bau.mit 2022 conference in Saalfelden, Austria in mid-September, over 150 Ytong Bausatzhaus partners and system partners celebrated the anniversary. "Every year, more than 700 builders realize the dream of their own four walls with Ytong Bausatzhaus," says YBSH Managing Director Maximilian Nötzel. "This shows that we have lost none of our appeal." Since the early 2000s, this has made it the German market leader in the "organized self-build" segment.
Why not just build it yourself?
Ytong Bausatzhaus is celebrating its 25th anniversary. More than 15,000 builders have already realized their individually tailored dream home with the successful concept. Managing Director Maximilian Nötzel explains what makes Ytong Bausatzhaus so unique.
Autonomous yet all-round supported
The decisive component of this success is a business model that guarantees that the dream house actually becomes reality through all-round support of the builders by a nationwide partner network as well as through the quality and self-building friendliness of the system. The Ytong Bausatzhaus partners are the heart of the concept. Together with their customers, they develop individual solid houses that exactly match their clients' ideas. Alternatively, builders can also draw inspiration from the Ytong Bausatzhaus master houses, which help to find the most diverse house types for every taste and requirement.
Easy building thanks to a well thought-out system
In addition, there is a well-thought-out, easy-to-process system that is specially designed for do-it-yourself construction. The monolithic construction method with Ytong plan blocks, which offer one of the best insulation values for solid building materials, guarantees easy handling, even for inexperienced builders. This, as well as the support provided by the Ytong Bausatzhaus partner, enables anyone, even if they do not have special craftsmanship skills, to build on their own without any loss of quality - and to save money in the process. Ytong Bausatzhaus now has 60 partners throughout Germany. Since 2015, builders in Austria have also been able to count on support from the concept, and further expansions through house concepts in the European region are planned for the near future. In addition to Building Companion, Ytong-Bausatzhaus is soon to be represented in other countries.
"These are all reasons," emphasizes Maximilian Nötzel, "that make me look positively to the future. The kit, the personal contribution - this is a model that never loses its charm." Especially in times when prices are rising, he says, self-build is an easy way to get your own house cheaply. "Ytong Bausatzhaus," Maximilian Nötzel emphasizes, "makes it possible for many people who otherwise wouldn't have the financial means to do so to build a house."
