Introduction and evolution over the years

The Ytong Multipor Academy was created in response to the growing need for specialized training in the building industry. "We anticipated a demand for structured education in sustainable construction," explains Alessandro Miliani, Training Director of Xella Italy. Initially focused on architectural design, the academy expanded over the years to include practical training on Ytong blocks and Multipor thermal insulation panels.

"At first, we mainly trained architects and engineers, but soon we recognized the importance of hands-on learning for installation teams as well," Miliani notes. The addition of courses tailored for construction workers, retailers, and students has broadened its impact. To date, the academy has trained over 900 professionals, offering both general and customized training sessions. "We can organize specialized programs depending on the needs of the participants," adds Miliani. Whether it’s an in-depth technical session for building firms or an introductory course for students, the academy adapts to its audience.

What sets the academy apart

In a competitive industry, the Ytong Multipor Academy distinguishes itself through its holistic approach. "We stand out by providing ongoing assistance beyond training, supporting professionals during design and construction phases," Miliani highlights. The academy also balances theoretical knowledge with practical application. "Our standard course is structured with a morning theory session, followed by an afternoon practical workshop, including a visit to our production plant," says Miliani. This immersive experience ensures a comprehensive understanding of the materials and techniques.

Flexibility is key to the Academy’s success. "We recently streamlined our training modules but remain ready to adjust based on industry needs," says Miliani. Previous years saw multiple specialized courses, proving the academy’s commitment to staying relevant in a constantly evolving field. The academy has even played a direct role in securing business opportunities. "All the building sites from building company LL Italia, including Palazzo Trecate, came about after a training session here," Miliani shares. Additionally, he recalls early sessions where female designers actively participated in hands-on training, breaking traditional industry norms early on and continuing to do so until today.

The academy actively collaborates with construction schools, professional associations, and retailers. "We frequently take our training on the road through our ‘Academy on Tour’ initiative, bringing high-quality education directly to institutions and businesses," he explains. Recent upgrades to the academy’s facilities, including renovated training rooms and updated instructional materials, ensure an optimal learning environment. "For now, we are focused on delivering the best experience possible," Miliani adds.

Why should you attend the Ytong Multipor academy?

For professionals seeking expertise in sustainable building techniques, the academy offers unparalleled value. "If you want to enhance your skills, gain deeper knowledge of an efficient construction system, or visit one of the most advanced production sites in Europe, this is the place for you," Miliani concludes.

With a strong foundation and a commitment to excellence, the Ytong Multipor Academy remains a pivotal force in construction training, empowering the industry’s future leaders.
