24th Xella student competition in the Czech Republic

Buildings of the future. Architecture students present their ideas for the Dream Tower and the final point of the boulevard in Prague's Nové Butvice quarter at the 24th Xella student competition in the Czech Republic.

24 April, 2019

The boulevard in Nové Butovice, a district in southwest Prague, is developing into a lively and modern centre where living space, business and culture meet.
The Xella student competition aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice and promote young talent. This year's task for the students: Design a multifunctional building with high-quality office space, apartments for short-term rent and a restaurant with a view. In addition, the multi-storey parterre should include at least a two-storey multifunctional room for exhibitions and important social events.
The plans submitted are impressive. The first prize was awarded to two students, Norbert Lichý and Jirí Formánek from Prague. The prize for the second and thrid place went to the students of the Bratislava and Pague faculties.
Further information on the competition and the competition projects can be found here.
