Green and modern living in Padua

A new residential complex in the Italian municipality of Padua links sustainable and nature-friendly living through autoclaved aerated concrete from Xella.

27 January, 2023

The desire for a retreat is greater than ever, especially after a stressful day at work. The apartment should be a place of tranquility, cozy, bright and ideally located in the middle of nature. The new residential complex "Green Life Residence Torre" is in the green surroundings in the municipality of Padua, Italy. A total of two sections with an area of 2,252 square meters and 3,968 square meters, respectively, offer residents comfortable living in a total of 42 residential units.

Efficient and sustainable construction with systems from Ytong and Multipor

The people responsible for the project, the Garbo Group, attach great importance to sustainable, efficient, and modern living. All this is reflected in the "Green Life Residence Torre". The name of the residential complex embodies its main features: sustainable, comfortable, healthy and nature-friendly living and housing. The residential units are designed according to the CasaClima protocol with the aim of energy-efficient living and environmental protection.

Those responsible want to ensure comfortable living as well as keep operating costs and CO2 emissions as low as possible. Therefore, they chose the complete system of Ytong and Multipor for the construction. The system consists of a mix of Ytong ClimaGold blocks, Taglio Termico TT block, Y-Pro L partition wall and Multipor insulation boards. Also Ytong mortarN200 and Multipor plaster FIX X700 were used. The vision and the goal are clear: the building, thanks to the materials, should keep heat indoors and minimize the energy demand.

The use of Ytong Climagold 45 blocks has made it possible to create single-layer infill external walls, for perfectly insulated walls without using additional thermal insulation.

Climate-friendly and modern living

The solar radiation was a central point in the planning. The stronger and longer the solar radiation, the less residents need to light the rooms. Residents can thus live even more energy-efficiently. Ytong ClimaGold blocks and Multipor insulation boards also increase air quality. The materials themselves are free of harmful substances, and even in the event of a fire, no toxic fumes or gases are produced.
However, quietness is also particularly important in an apartment complex. Residents do not want to be confronted with noisy neighbors. Multipor insulation boards and Ytong autoclaved aerated concrete offer a solution for this as well. The systems are sound insulating. To make the residential units a true oasis of tranquility, all apartments either provide access to a private garden or offer a large terrace, which are located on the first and second floors of the penthouses. This allows residents to enjoy not only the indoor space, but also the outdoor area to the fullest.
