I have been working at Xella for over 25 years (February 1st 2023: 25 years, before that two years as a temporary worker).
Project leader in the construction services (received a training course "project leader " from Xella which I am currently working on and through this I am working to make the most of my new role I got 1.5 years ago); Xella Netherlands.
Dynamic, diverse, and challenging.
My main duties include managing the supervisors, planning and project administration and all ancillary work from site to administration, especially the operational part.
The best thing about working at Xella is the variety and freedom in your work. Every week I make my own planning, but still have the freedom to reschedule and prioritize according to current events
A little less stress!
I started as a work planner in the construction department; after about 6 years I switched to assembly planning. After 10 years, I got the chance to become a superintendent, which I enjoyed doing until I took on a role as project leader in the construction services department 1.5 years ago.
My job in particular has changed in recent years to a very digital workplace. No fax, or notepad but everything via computer or tablet.
Sustainability indirectly plays a role in my work because you are outside trying to operate as sustainably as possible, and Xella itself goes for sustainability which I contribute. However it is also my job to reduce waste generated by projects by offering special containers for it, to ensure their recyclability.
My dream job as a child was to become a drummer in a big band, now I have been drumming for 30 years and play in various bands, which is very well combined with the job I have.
Precisely the work and the relaxation I have when I am sitting comfortably behind my drum kit and performing with my band is a moment when you forget everything and you feel good and relaxed.
