Sustainable and energy-autonomous: The future of housing is being created in Romania

This showcase project in Romania demonstrates just how serious we are when we say in our brand claim that we are building a sustainable world. Our products are part of a residential complex that demonstrates how to live in a sustainable and energy-autarc way.

Xella is a pioneer in the field of sustainable construction. The physical properties of our products and the ease with which they can be implemented are significant advantages.

An example of this is "6Origins", an innovative residential complex located in Bragadiru, a few minutes from Bucharest, the Capital of Romania. The buildings represent a sophisticated and accessible lifestyle.

The complex of 60 sustainable and individual homes is equipped for the new era in real estate. The concept, which includes minimalist design and family intimacy, lays the foundations for a place that will be brought to life by those who choose it to write their story.

Energy-independence and sustainable products

The 6Origins project, developed in partnership with Xella, is based on modern architectural design, with quality materials and pedigree, adapted to the latest trends in the market (going green, hi-tech, sustainability focus). The vision of this standard lifestyle is realized through the construction of 60 houses that are 100% energy independent, built with high quality masonry materials that offer excellent thermal insulation values, air tightness and minimization of thermal bridges. In addition, photovoltaic panels, underfloor heating, a heat pump and additional insulation guarantee an energy-secure property.

These types of homes are well insulated and energy efficient that they produce as much renewable energy as they consume over the course of a year, leaving the occupants with a near-zero net energy bill and a zero carbon footprint. A home that produces its own energy is more than just a home, it is the new standard for families around the world to live at a lower cost.

The solution offered by Xella in this project is Ytong, the masonry solution with unique characteristics in terms of thermal insulation, heat storage, watertightness and fire resistance. As a result, the energy consumption of these houses is very limited, resulting in savings in both money and energy.
