Opening of a new plant for mortar and plaster in Pontenure

Xella opens a new plant in Pontenure, Italy today. The Xella Group has been a producer of premium AAC for more than eight years with its own plant in Italy. Today, the market leader in its sector is opening its new plant in Italy for the production of high-quality mortar and interior wall plaster.

22 March, 2019

Xella products are made from natural raw materials and thus promote a pleasant indoor climate. Due to their sustainable materials, Xella products are recyclable and can be returned to the production process at the end of their life cycle.
The new plant covers an area of more than 100,000 square meters, is built according to industry 4.0 standard and meets the highest energy efficiency and environmental standards.  The production capacity is approximately 17.5 tons/hour.
Due to its thickness, the interior plaster produced in Pontenure can be applied by only a few millimeters with a total thickness of 2 to 20 mm, thus half of normal plaster. Accordingly the working time can be shortened and the building and material costs can be lowered clearly.
With the opening of the new plant and the production of highest quality mortar and plaster for AAC, Xella emphasizes its position as one of the leading providers of integrated system solutions for our customers.
