Students visit Ytong plant in Serbia

Students from the Technical School in Lazarevac were introduced to the Ytong plant in Vreoci, where they learned about innovative building materials and production technology. The visit began with an informative session on the ecological aspects of Xella’s materials, followed by a tour of the production process, offering insight into modern engineering solutions.
The event highlighted Xella’s commitment to sustainable construction practices and provided students with an opportunity to expand their understanding of advanced production methods. Special attention was given to safety and quality standards, key components of modern construction practices. During the tour, a demonstration of Xella’s robust safety protocols showcased how worker protection is integrated into every step of the manufacturing process. This visit contributed to the students' broader education, enhancing their theoretical and practical understanding of the industry.

National Student Scientific Communications Session in Romania

More than 300 students, professors and industry representatives gathered to exchange ideas at the National Meeting of Student Scientific Communication, organized by the Faculty of Construction of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. The event showcased student research and encouraged discussion on a variety of construction-related topics.
Xella Romania is a regular participant and was present once again this year. With the recent establishment and support of the master's program "Artificial Intelligence in Construction and Management," the company underscored its commitment to supporting digital construction processes. In learning as well as contributing, Xella plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between education and the industry.

Collaboration with Italian universities to promote theoretical learning

In Italy, Xella continues its tradition of collaborating with universities and high schools to promote education in the building industry. This year, a series of theoretical lectures are scheduled at prestigious institutions:
in February, at the Technical Institute for Surveyors “Denina” in Saluzzo in February, followed by events at the University of Bologna, the Politecnico di Milano and the Technical Institute “Bazzi” in Milan. In November, "Cantiere in Aula" will be held at the University of Ferrara, where students of the Faculty of Architecture will discover both theoretical and practical features of Xella's products applied directly on a simulated building site. These events demonstrate Xella's commitment to providing students with in-depth theoretical knowledge that is closely linked to the real needs of the industry.

Showcasing Sustainability in Construction in Slovenia

We recently got to meet someone who plays an important role in this: Jure Lovšin, who connects theoretical knowledge with real-world applications through regular presentations at universities and vocational schools in Slovenia. Read the work journey of our colleague Jure Lovšin here.
