The Horní Počaply plant is positioning itself for the coming decades

Xella Czech Republic celebrates 50 years of its manufacturing plant in Horní Počaply and powers up for the future with a complete replacement of autoclaves and enhanced safety measures.

17 July, 2024
June marked the successful completion of an extensive reconstruction of our Horní Počaply plant in the Czech Republic, which included the complete replacement of all ten autoclaves and related equipment. This corresponded with the plant's 50th anniversary this year – reason enough to celebrate with a festive reopening.

In addition to the local management, Xella Group CEO Christophe Clemente was also present and emphasized the sustainable supply chain with three strong plants that perfectly cover the whole territory including the Austrian and Slovak markets.

The new autoclaves in detail
The autoclave replacement project is crucial for the plant. The newly installed autoclaves are 26 meters long, with a diameter of 2.8 meters, and can hold up to 65 cubic meters of material each.

"The curing autoclaves installed by Scholz are designed and manufactured according to the latest technological knowledge and production processes, including patented doors for quick loading and unloading of materials," says Stanislav Slánský, Plant Manager Horní Počaply. "I am proud of what we have achieved. This project was not only technically and temporally demanding but also required a high degree of coordination and cooperation among various teams".
Festive Reopening
The reopening of the plant was officially celebrated with a ceremony. A total of 160 people were present, including, of course, colleagues from the plant and administration, the local management, the local press and also representatives of the Xella Group. Various speeches were held, and the traditional ribbon was officially cut.

“We are ready to continue our efforts and introduce innovative, high-quality and sustainable products in order to fulfil the expectations of our customers and investors when building or renovating their housing, concludes Igor Forberger, COO Xella Czech Republic and Slovakia.
