How Xella Romania maintains and builds contacts with young generations

When it comes to attracting young people to the construction industry, Xella Romania gets everyone on board and starts engaging with future builders, architects, and engineers while they are still in school.

Access to quality education is necessary. Giving students the chance to develop communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills is critical to career success. That is why Xella Romania contributes to the education and training of the next generation of professionals and organizes several activities for students.

University presentations all over Romania

For students from the faculties of engineering, urban planning, construction, and architecture, colleagues from the project management team present work scenarios related to Xella products and services. During the presentations, the students discussed the efficient optimization of construction processes and how digital products and services are transforming the construction industry, while having a focus on the production technology of the Ytong masonry system.

„Xella Laboratories”

Further learning opportunities are given by so called "Xella Laboratories", which hold educational demonstrations and showcase the implementation of Xella masonry solutions interactively. Participants have the opportunity to participate in the workshops in an active and fun way. The project management team also organizes creative competitions for students, giving further insights and getting to know Xella's sustainable solutions.

"Summer School”

Xella Romania also reaches students by participating in the “Summer School” organized every year by Allbim. Graduates from architecture and urbanism learn about Xella's innovative solutions, the latest generation materials and technologies in the construction field. Great feedback and impressive results of the Summer School project encourages Xella Romania to continue to provide students with unconventional experiences and quality construction education.

High school workshops

Another regular activity is the yearly architecture workshop in cooperation with the art high school "Constantin Brăiloiu" in Targu Jiu in Romania. With the help of the high school architecture teacher, sculpture workshops with Ytong masonry blocks are organized. The great flexibility of the Ytong stones allows for creative ways to work with them as sculptures and also shows the architectural potential it holds by being able to be easily cut in many different forms. After the completion, an exhibition is organized to present the results. This year, the architectural exhibition entitled "The Graduate" was held at the National Museum "Constantin Brâncuși”.
